Where did the day go?

I just looked at my clock and realize it was 10:35pm already! Where on Earth does the time go?

My mother had her MRI today (probably where the time went) and we have to wait till Wednesday for her to speak to her doctor on what her next steps are. You know it would be really nice to go to the Dr. tell them whats wrong they send ya next door to get whatever test need to be done and then you go back to the doctor to get your results! To me this makes sense and seems easier for all involved. However, Its not how it goes and for whatever reason not that simple! Sigh!

Grandma also had her check up today! Shes healing quite nicely and no sign of infection. Still no pain (which is very good) and she goes back next week to have her stitches removed. So hopefully this will be a great thing for grandma and she can start moving around easier!

My Half brother Rob who was taken to the ER the other night for a possibly seizure is going to see another doctor for a second opinion. The ER doctor told him that basically he didn't have a seizure because he didn't "wet himself" and what caused his involuntary shaking of whole body and causing more damage to his already broken and slow mending bones was a seance of almost passing out but not. Hum...... I'm glad they are seeking a second opinion.

That's about it Medical wise in the family! LOL!

Oh, we did go to weight watchers today and ... oh snap.. I lost 1.5 pounds! I'm down to 196.5... YES! Slowly making it away from that 200 mark! UGH!

I also spent the day working on my day off! Fun isn't it!? I don't feel like much was accomplished! But somethings were.. kinda! Sigh! Oh, and my dear hubby (or nubbby as my iphone's auto speller likes to change the word into) is going to work for me a few days a week! Such a blessing -- who knows he may have fun!

Tomorrow is my first day back into work from a two week span away from my office! I miss my office and I can't wait to be back in it! So I will be returning all phone calls and finishing up my mass of emails! I had 780 emails and I'm finally down to 126 emails! YES! So everyone should hear from me by tomorrow that has tried to reach me!

Now I leave you with a final and sad note! Today the world lost an amazing dog named Pickles! I met her only once last year while shooting for my layover ladies. But she has made a forever impact on my life! Pickles you will be missed but remembered and loved by all! PK, your family fellow Pickle lovers are in my heart!

Picture borrowed from PK facebook page a picture of her on her last day!

We Made it!

Yesterday with the record heat of 111 degrees! I got to shoot Katelyn and Matt's wedding! We did spend about three hours outside taking pictures and we all made it out alive! I must admit though that I defiantly felt the effects today! Man did my head hurt and I was TIRED! My husband kept making fun of me because I slept 11 hours and was still tired, tired enough to pass out for an hour in the afternoon! However, after my much needed sleep we went for a 10 mile Rollerbladen' trip and finished off with some Oberweis and my 1,300 calorie ice cream with choc dipped waffle bowl! Next time I go to Oberweis.. better choices!

When we got home my friend Steve found a little baby grasshopper. It's actually kinda cute!

Axl Rose bathing in a Bird Bath

So were back from vacation! Got back on the 19th, Friday night late for CJ & Emily's Saturday wedding. Then it was time for grandma's toe & foot surgery! The surgery went well and shes in less pain and waiting for her foot to start to hurt from the surgery. So, its great news to have her feeling better and able to walk around not in pain. Then there is my mom! My mom, I love her dearly but sometimes I worry! My mother who hurt her leg almost 4 years ago and has problems with it almost every few days (but won't admit it). On vacation she finally ended up really hurting her knee and we just found out she tore her tendon in her knee. Shes not suppose to do anything just take it easy! Soooo.. I wake up in the morning finding her outside in her garden, climbing a latter, scrubbing floors... her excuse is its already hurt but I stop when it starts hurting more! Mothers, what am I to do with mine! When she goes into surgery and when shes recovering were going to have to tie her down to her bed so she doesn't re hurt herself!

Well, on one of my moms adventures out (she sneaks out though the front door so I can't see her) my little one Axl Rose decided to Roll in something nasty! So in return he got a bath.. in the bird bath! It was actually kinda cute and Axl just sat back and relaxed in the bird bath! I got a few snapshots! Chica didn't like it at all... but she tired!

So Andrew and I arrived in good old Potosi MO at Trout Lodge around.. yawn 2am! Only to get up for our "feeding time" at 6:30 in the morning! We did our family group picture and then headed off for a photo turtle scavenger hunt! It was quite funny the things people came up with for what they were suppose to do! Then after a day of playing we had a turtle race, slowest turtle and did a turtle initiation. Here are some pictures from the day!

Jon & Kara - Engagement Sneak Peak

Last weekend on a very rainy day I got to shoot Jon and Kara's Engagement pictures! We had a ton of fun and its great to find a couple that works so well together! The whole time we were shooting we had a nice drizzle and great sounding thunder! However, we managed to get done with the pictures quickly and high tailed it out of there just in the nick of time! I hope Jon had a great flight back home and Kara is probably on the road now as I speak driving to her new home with Jon. Congrats you two! See you guys again soon!

What a day!

Soo, yesterday you know how I promised to blog! Well, I get to the office to work and I got an update for my computer. I updated the computer then bam, my wireless keyboard stopped working! So my one assistant Nick and I spent the whole day trying to get my keyboard to work so I could work!! Frustrating!

I also had a wedding cancellation for Sept 19, 2009. So if anyone is looking for that date I'm now available! Makes me sad they were an amazing couple and ..sinf.. they didn't like there engagement session due to miss-communication.. when I'm told we like the area we want landscape not a bunch of close ups... I shoot landscapes with them as they key item not a bunch of close ups! But after the session they ended up wanting close ups! I offered a new session to get them more pictures they wanted and to make sure for the wedding date we were on the right track! However, they felt more comfortable just going with someone else! My only cancellation ever in 5 years! It happens.. just darn.. I want everyone to love what I do!

So moral of the story.. This people is why its sooooo important to shoot an engagement session with your photographer. One thing sometimes means two things two different people! Or just simply you over express something and its mistaken as that's only what you want! So when you hire your photographer its a key to do an engagement session with them. Even if its only for 30 min or something. Just for that reason you want to make sure everyone is on the same page for the wedding day! Plus you never want to break the ice with shooting with someone on the big day! There is enough stress and ice breaking that day.. you don't want it to be with the one person your with the most that day! So quick side note.. I do include my engagement session complementary in all of my packages! Just because I NEVER want the above to happen at your wedding!

So then there is today! Everything is going good... money is back into my checking account from my paypal fiasco! I'm actually getting stuff done.. on my laptop.. wireless keyboard still isn't working.. then my online gallery site starts acting weird... then its just not acting at all! However, that's almost fixed.. I MIGHT of accidentally deleted an important element to the html code... oops!! Easy enough fix, just takes time! Soooo... I'm still trucking along waiting for my friend to get back with my car so I could run some errands. Then I get a call... 'Ummm, Rhonda I looked everywhere I think your car was stolen!' What?!? (some choice words)..** (maybe a few more choice words and some tears).. I was so upset! Couldn't believe it... first its my account getting hacked and 5 grand vanishing from my checking and now my car has been stolen! WHAT! So I call the cops they advise me to call city towing... city towing doesn't have any record, darn! ((This was probably the first time someone prayed and hoped their car was towed.)) So ..more choice words.. I drive up to my dear friend Steve and cops are on the way! Were all baffled that someone would steal a car with my name and info in big bright letters on the back of the car! Still waiting for the cops Steve and I are talking.. He's telling me that he parked right there because it was a busy street.. pointed at the place where my car was.. then got quiet looked at me and said.. oh (choice word) I think I might of actually parked a few streets down. So he goes running off.. I'm waiting for the cop. Steve and the cop shows up at the same time and HAPPY WORDS Steve found my misplaced car a few blocks down. The cop was glad, no report for him to write this time... I was joyous.. Steve felt like a "donkey."

So moral of the story.. don't ever assume that you will remember where you parked. Always write it down because after walking around for a bit its easy to get turned around.

So didn't get as much as I wanted done today but at least my not so stolen car was found. Till tomorrow!

So yep!

So yep! I've been bad!! Where has the time gone since I blogged last!? I'll get the pictures up from the last two weddings I've done and a couple of engagements and bridals! I'll do all of that on Thursday when I get back into the office with my computer that has everything on it.

So a couple of quick (not so quick knowing me) notes! Things here are getting better, some of you know about my fiasco with my paypal account being hacked and I suddenly had 5g vanish out of my account. Its been a mess getting everything situated.. too much red tape and endless circles! The bank couldn't close my hacked checking account and open a new once because it had a negative balance and paypal wouldn't refund the money till I had a new "safe" account that hasn't been "violated." So luckily I have some amazing clients and they gave me a paycheck a few weeks early so I could get the negative account situated and the new account open. So at the very least paypal realized there was a problem before they gave the guy my money! Just wish they realized before they took the money out of my checking and caused bounced checks! Sooo embarrassing! Thanks again to my peoples who I wrote checks to for being so understanding.. that's something really amazing about most people they understand when something goes wrong. However, I know I'm going to get drama from this BUT I did have one problem with one person who just seemed to think I deliberately wrote them a check just to bounce it... who asks someone.. now rhonda what did you really think was going to happen when you wrote that check.. ummm... what most people think and that it would clear! I'm sure that if this person reads this I'll get informed on how unprofessional I am.. etc, etc and may not want to do business with me anymore! But I'm really upset on how horribly I was treated for a 100.00 check to someone who is well off financially and I personally know. UGH! Okay I'm not going to get started/continue on that anymore!

Also, I don't know why but this whole Air France Jet that crashed with no survivors really has me jostled for some reason. I'm sure some of it has to be because of the mass death toll. But it really gets to me and I honestly have no idea why. I was consistently looking up info about it and to see if they had found anything. I'm sure everyone that had survived is no longer with us. My thoughts and love go out to the friends and families of those who were lost at sea. -- Something just occurred to me maybe I knew someone on that doomed flight.. and its some sixth sense kicking in --

Hum, lets end this not so happy catchup on a happier note! My dearest friend Steve has moved back from Portland Oregon. He's in our spare room till he can find a job before he gets his new place. Mrs. Chica my little black dog with an attitude actually lets Steve around her and Toby my mothers dog is in love with Steve. Then there is little Axl Rose the nicest of the bunch and he won't let Steve near him.... craziest thing! But Steve is lovin' being back in St. Louis with the humidity and heat! (we all think he is crazy -- who loves this kind of weather??)

Till tomorrow (I PROMISE BETTER UPDATES) I'm going to hit the sack. Oh, and tomorrow I'm doing a bridal session outside hopefully in some semi drizzle not down pouring in forest park. I have some amazing ideas and I can't wait to try them out!!

I leave you with a random picture from my trip to death valley in march!
