And now I quit.. Actually, while I was away enjoying the sun and my shutter happy finger. I really sat down and thought about my business. Well, I guess I didn't really sit down but I wondered around in the heat, drinking... water..., letting my shutter happy finger go nuts and I've decided I'm tired of the NORM. When it comes to wedding photography, wedding photography pricing and products, Maternity stuff, Senior Stuff .. etc... etc.. Soooo, as most of you already know and or will find out that I already do my wedding packages different. By not including any physical products in the package allowing you more freedom and with my amazing dollar for dollar program giving you free money to put towards products has turned into a HUGE Hit! Plus the free photo booth/portrait photographer at your reception. I've booked 15 weddings in a matter of months with brides just in love with my new package motto. Plus, with my Love Story Series its all just great! Man I'm almost shaking I'm so excited!
What brought this about is I was reading notes from other seminars I've been to and from talking to some "established" photographers. They always tell me to do anything I possibly can to get you to get the biggest and best and sell the heck out of you! I also got some crazy formulas on how to charge a certain way that every other photographer out there charges. But the problem I kept having is that I'm not a sales rep and to be honest I really don't know how to "sell." I just figure if you like what you see you will get what you want! I've always had the motto to charge what I need to charge to make a living but I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror and be happy with what I'm doing. (except with all the yummy cake I ate last year.. this extra 50ish pounds I've put on makes me not want to look in the mirror.. but that's a totally new subject) So, I'm taking the leap and not being normal and not making things complicated and just plain simple! In this world we need simple! So any suggestions that anyone may have or gripes about stuff email me and I take your "advice/gripes" and figure out how to make it help what I can offer you!
One example I've had a couple people tell me that they wish they didn't get an actual book album but that they got there album to display on there wall. This is my new and improved cool thing for photography. I just need to figure out different ways to present it..to you.. my client and hopefully friend!
Now I'm redoing all of my pricing for my other services to kind of go along that route. How, I'm not sure and if doesn't work out I'm blaming it on Death Valley. But with the economy the way it is and the great response I'm already getting I say its a go!
Oh, and to my current brides that do not have my amazing new package. If you want call me and we can go over my new packages and find one that fits you and void out your old contract.
Anyway, I have to hit the sack.. its 1:30 am and I have to be up and on the road by 8:30am.
